Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and is enjoying the start of this fabulous new year! I came across this money challenge from SavingABuck, so David and I have decided to give it a try. We are both contributing, so we will be doubling the deposit amount each week. By the end of the year, we will have put a total of $2756.00 into savings (plus interest). We've decided to make our deposits every Friday.

As a former buyer, I love spreadsheets...so naturally, I made a spreadsheet to keep track of our weekly savings contributions. |
I've seen so many posts on Facebook saying how nobody bothers to keep their New Year's resolutions...but 2013 has been my best year yet! I accomplished 2 resolutions:
- Lose weight/get in shape before the wedding
- Get married
I am hoping to have a good year in 2014 as well. This year I would like to continue my health/fitness journey, make strides/progress in my dissertation/PhD, and improve our finances/savings. Hopefully, this money challenge will help me to accomplish the latter. We are starting Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University this month, so I'm excited about that.
What are your New Year's resolutions?
Luv,
the Bride
PS: Right around Cyber Money, I finally decided to give Ebates a try. For those of you who don't know, Ebates pays members cash back every time they shop online, as well as provides them with the best coupons and deals. There's no fee to join, you just shop online as you normally do, and receive a "big fat check" in the mail every few months. If you join now, you can also get a free gift card! I just got my first check (and free gift card) in the mail and I earned $9.99 back on a single purchase. My only regret is not looked into this sooner! You can sign up for Ebates here.
